[From] the Office of Monastic Affairs, [to] the Kokubunji [Temple] in Omi Province:	僧綱。　近江國國分寺。	僧綱，　近江國國分寺:
The monk Saichō [of your temple, who is] aged thirty [and has been] in training ten [years], is here granted the ‘Nyūi’ [Rank within the monastic] training [system].	僧最澄（年三十臈十）今授修行入位。	僧最澄（年三十，臈十），今授修行入位。
[Dated] the twenty eighth day of the twelth month in the tenth year of Enryaku (791 A.D.), [and signed by]:   Master of Rites, [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daihosshi: Jōyō;   [Dai Sō]zu of Training, [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daizenshi: Kenkyō;   [Shō Sō]zu [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daihosshi: Gyōga;   [Shō Sō]zu [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daihosshi: Genren;   [Ri]sshi [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daihosshi: Zensha;   [Ri]sshi [holding the] Rank of Dentō Daihosshi: Tōjō.	延暦十年十二月二十八日。　　　　　　　 威儀師傳燈大法師位常燿。   　都修行傳燈大禪師位賢璟。   　都　　傳燈大法師位行賀。   　都　　傳燈大法師位玄憐。   　師　　傳燈大法師位善謝。   　師　　傳燈大法師位等定。	延暦十年十二月二十八日（ 791 A.D.） : 　　　　　 威儀師傳燈大法師位常燿;   都修行傳燈大禪師位賢璟;    都　　傳燈大法師位行賀;   都　　傳燈大法師位玄憐;   師　　傳燈大法師位善謝;   師　　傳燈大法師位等定。
It is not know where [the original of] this Rank Record is located. The present [version] is transcribed from a traced copy made by the Risshi Genmon in the eighteenth year of Kyōhō (1733 A.D.).	此位記不知所在。今寫玄門律師享保十八年所雙鉤。	此位記不知所在。今寫玄門律師享保十八年所雙鉤 (1733 A.D.)。
The Risshi [Genmon’s] Record states: “[There are] twelve seals from the Office of Monastic Affairs [on it], and on the reverse, there is the seal of Enryakuji [Temple].”	律師記曰。僧綱印十二。背 有延暦寺印	律師記曰:「僧綱印十二，背 有延暦寺印。」
(The text notes: “[In regards to the Sō]zu, there was one Dai Sōzu, two Shō Sōzu. And there two [Ri]sshi.”   It further notes: “in “aged thirty…”, the word ‘thirty’ may be doubted; in [the segment] “in training ten [years]…” the word ‘ten’ should be the word ‘seven’. ”)	（本按。都大僧都一人。少僧都二人。師二人也。 又按。年三十。三十字可疑。臘十。十字宜作七字）。	（本按: 都大僧都一人，少僧都二人。師二人也。   又按:「年三十」，三十字可疑;「臘十」，「十」字宜作「七」字）。
