The following calendar of events is based on the calendar as celebrated on Mt Hiei 比叡山 at our Head Temple 総本山 of Enryakuji 延暦寺. A few additions based on the Australian context have been added, but naturally those outside of Australia are in no way obligated to celebrate these. It should be stated at the outset, that our small temple of Enmitsuji 圓密寺 does not yet have the capacity to celebrate all of these observances in person together. Nevertheless, these observances are those which Rev. Jikai Dehn observes, and wishes to encourage members of Enmitsuji, as well as others, to observe as many of these celebrations as is practicable.
NOTA BENE:
Many of the activities discussed below, such as the “Yearly Recitation of the Entire Tripartite Lotus Sūtra (32 days)” are not yet possible for members, due solely to a lack of resources. We do not yet have a copy of the entire Tripartite Lotus Sūtra in roman letters (Romaji) for English speakers to use for recitation. We hope to make one in time, but this is a long process. Those who have technical skills or who wish to assist in the process of producing such resources, should make a donation to this end, or contact Reverend Jikai to offer their assistance.
